I tell my mother that I'm exhausted and she tells me this story.
A woman she knew had decided in her adulthood to give school another go. She set high expectations for herself, not that she shouldn't have. Mother says she was very intelligent. She wanted to be a doctor. The woman, whose name escapes for that was not the essence of the story to me, put herself on a strenous study schedule. Even her doctor warned her. One day, she left her house and took to the streets. Anyone who knows me might guess that I would laugh at this story...heartily. But, it suddenly struck me that my mother was making a point. She was entertaining the idea of me taking to the streets as well.
